Kashrut

WHAT IS KASHRUT?

Kashrut is a very specific set of dietary restrictions followed by orthodox  Jews. To cater to those who keep kosher we have certain procedures that we follow in each of our apartments.

SHARONSPLACES STANDARD OPTION

We encourage all our guests to cook and use only kosher food in our apartments, and to keep meat and dairy foods separate. To facilitate this, as can be found in all kosher kitchens, we provide separate pots and pans, dishes and cutlery- for meat and dairy. All our apartments have two sinks – one for meat and one for dairy.

SHARONSPLACES SPECIAL KASHRUT OPTION

For an additional charge ($30) we will undertake to ‘kosher’ the kitchen, by ‘kashering’ the oven and microwave. We will also provide pots, pans and other cooking utensils – that have only been used by past users of the special option. We will also provide a whole selection of disposable (plastic) plates, bowls, cutlery and cups.

SHABBAT

Note that all our apartments have Shabbat hotplates and Shabbat urns, as well as Shabbat clocks for lighting and air-conditioning.
